Photo albums

Posted by Ed on August 4, 2003

I have a website with some photos on it, which is all very well and good, but it takes soooo much time to make new albums. So I’m looking for a way to speed up the whole process.

I’ve been looking at a few applications that do all the hard work for you, such as Gallery, My Image Gallery and phpWebAlbum.

The Gallery website also has links to webhosting companies, such as OpenSource Hosting, whose servers are Gallery friendly.

Any tips, recommendations or opinions anyone can give on any of these products and services would be very gratefully received.

Perusing your Budapest photos. They seem to have a strange pink colour cast. Is that a post-editing thing?
    Groovy photos none the less.

  2. You’re running MacOS-X at home, right? Why don’t you use the web publishing functionality of iPhoto, or does that only work with Apple’s .mac thingy?

The strange colour cast is only present on the first two pictures, as far as my eyes can see, and was added by me. I prefer to call it a tone rather than a cast.

iPhoto does indeed have the capability to export to html, but you have very limited control over the appearance and layout. You don’t need a .Mac account though.
