Snow and Coffee

Posted by Ed on December 14, 2003

Technology’s great, isn’t it? I’m sitting in my favourite Ohio City coffee shop, Talkies, making use of their free Wireless internet, looking out at a fresh carpet of snow.

All my neighbours were out shovelling snow off the pavement (“sidewalk”) this morning. Perhaps I should be doing the same, I thought. Then I realised I didn’t have a shovel, and decided to go out for coffee instead.

  1. Remember when we had that chat about the ideal computer combination: a Powerbook as “front-end” and a Linux-running beefy PC as backend? Is it as good as it sounds?

    How’s the coffee at Talkies?

I’ll let you know when I get it back. It’s at Apple having some (4-day-old!) teething trouble sorted out at the moment.

Speciality coffees such as Lattes and Cappuccinos are excellent. Ordinary coffee (Americano) should be avoided at all costs, unless you’re partial to hot, dirty water with no taste. This goes for all Cafes, not just Talkies.
